Red Velvet Cake

A Renfro family favorite!

Red Velvet Cake

*Preheat oven to 350*

Ingredients:

1/2 cup shortening

1.5 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 oz. red food coloring

1 oz. water

2 Tbs. cocoa

1 cup buttermilk

2 1/4 cup flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla

1 Tbs. vinegar

1-1.5 tsp. baking soda

Mix all ingredients and bake at 30-35 min @ 350 degrees.

Frosting:

1 cup milk

1/4 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup butter

1 tsp. vanilla
