Basically the BEST dinner rolls ever. I've grown up on these rolls and they are so soft and buttery and delicious.
Ginger's Rolls
Ingredients:
2 cups scalded milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
3/4 tbsp. of salt
10 cups flour
6 eggs (beaten)
1 cup warm water
3 tbsp. yeast
1 tsp. sugar
Steps-
1. Add scalded milk to sugar and margarine
2. Beat eggs in separate bowl. In separate bowl, add yeast and sugar to warm water. When margarine and sugar are dissolved, add egg and dissolved yeast.
3. Add salt and beat enough sifted flour into milk mixture until dough is soft yet firm enough to knead.
4. Place dough into greased bowl (my mom always uses a big mixing bowl) and let rise until double in bulk.
5. Shape into rolls and let them rise for a second time.
6. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. (10-12 mins)
After you take them out of the oven, my mom rubs a stick of butter on top of the rolls. (Yum)
History: My mom got this recipe from her friend in LA named Ginger.
